In a corrupt walled-in society like Blackhill, nothing really ever changes. Gangs, poverty, drugs, and murder are the things people are used to by now. Even Misha, who is probably the only one there trying to get out legitimately. But even he can't avoid the pressure of becoming a gang member, much less when that pressure is actually just another gun on his head.
