White Couch Albany is a church plant that started in September of 2011 with monthly evening services in a former bar/nightclub in downtown Albany called Jillian's. We are currently holding weekly evening services every Sunday at 6pm. We welcome you to come and join us and see for yourself what God is doing here in downtown Albany. The Origin of the White Couch White Couch Albany is a church plant that started from a small bible study in Orange, TX. It began in the summer of 2006 as a college age bible study unaffiliated with any specific church but eventually contained members of multiple churches in the area. In the beginning there was no name for this group but as time passed it grew and we began calling it "White Couch", inspired by the one couch in the room that happened to be white. We began to feel that God was starting something we had no part in planning, so "revival" was later added to the title. Eventually this small bible study would evolve and begin collecting offerings to give to overseas missions and orchestrating community outreaches. God has used that small bible study to raise up missionaries, church planters, teachers and worship leaders serving all across the USA. WC Albany White Couch Albany is a local church in the heart of downtown Albany, NY. The vision of the church is simple: "To LEAD people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ". Everything that we do is based around the vision that God has placed on our hearts. WCA is a creative and modern church that invites others on a journey towards Christ. If you are exploring the faith for the first time or you are a seasoned follower of Christ you will be challenged through the worship and teaching. We believe that church should be fun, relevant, welcoming, but always focused on the truth of the scriptures. You will never feel pressured into anything at WCA but we do not apologize for teaching the truth of the Gospel. We welcome everyone from all backgrounds of faith and would love to have a conversation and answer any questions that you have about Christ or the church. Currently we are meeting every Sunday night at 498 Clinton Ave. Parking is available. What to Expect If you are looking for a quiet church with a very traditional environment you will not find that here. What you can expect as you come into a White Couch service is to meet believers that will love you for who your are. The environment is very different from a typical church but it is a very laid back and a welcoming one for sure. During our services you will experience modern music that is high energy and heart felt. Every service is built around a bottom line, meaning, you never know what to expect (creativity, media, arts, etc.) The teaching is relevant and not over your head. Our goal is a ONE point message. We desire for you to walk away from a service learning ONE thing that you can work on, study, and talk about outside from the Sunday Experience. Before service we have our cafe' open for snacks and coffee. White Couch is ALL about developing RELATIONSHIPS with YOU!
