Dr. Robert James Goodman was born in the back seat of a 1957 Cadillac in 1957, in segregated rural Arkansas into an impoverished extended family of fourteen children. This book and website is about Dr. James's journey as a black man, with dyslexia, from the cotton fields of Arkansas to San Francisco, California. Dr. James refused to accept society’s idea of his potential and learned to succeed despite what many would consider impossible odds.
